Over the past year, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at SDSU has grown in so many ways that our thriving community — one of 120 institutes in the United States — meets the Bernard Osher Foundation’s definition of exemplary. For this honor, we were invited to apply for a $25,000 capacity-building grant, and we received it! If we meet the volunteerism, fundraising, and membership goals required by the grant, we’ll have the opportunity to apply two additional years, for a total of $75,000. The grant will help us ensure the long-term sustainability of the institute, securing its future for you, your family and friends, and the community.

Where We Are So Far
The 2017-2018 fiscal year began July 1, so we have until June 30, 2018 to reach our goals.

Invite Your Friends to the OLLI Welcome Orientation and Tour
An easy way to help with the OLLI Challenge is to invite your friends to the OLLI Welcome Orientation and Tour on Friday, August 25, from 9:30–11:30 am.

New Interim President Sally Roush will provide the welcome message, then we’ll have a short presentation about the institute, followed by a walking tour of our facilities and several points of interest on the SDSU campus. We’ll show you the classrooms, staff offices, registration window, places to relax between classes, where to get your (optional) student ID, and more.

Light refreshments will be provided. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the walking tour. This event is open to all.

Membership is not required to register, but you must register for this event to be emailed a parking permit. Registration opens August 11. Attendees will be entered for a chance to win a door prize!
