Conor Frye

Conor Frye has spent nearly the last decade of his life "extremely excited about language and how it works," and feels he has barely breached the surface of what is being explored. He is completing his Ph.D. in cognitive science and language acquisition at UCSD, and his dissertation is on the effect of flexible phonemes in word learning. He hopes to one day make learning a new language easier based on the language(s) a person already knows.

SLHS 0512: Phonological Acquisition and Disorders uses targeted mini video-lectures to instruct specific concepts, readings that provide insight into the history of these areas of study as well as the cutting edge of research, quizzes designed to test topic-retention, and group discussion boards for facilitating pushing our lecture topics further and engaging the whole class to learn together.
