The 2018 Bridge to the Future Conference offers institute training on: Transition to Post-Secondary Education, Transition to Competitive Integrated Employment, The Parent Role in Transition, Connecting to Community Support for Transition, Youth Self Advocacy & Leadership, Roles of Schools, Workability I, and Agency Collaboration. The CA Transition Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that focuses on helping youth with disabilities to prepare for life after high school. It establishes capacity building efforts with an emphasis on supporting and training youth-serving professionals and sustaining transition efforts in California.
This conference is designed for employment specialists (WorkAbility I, TPP, CaPROMISE, EDD, America’s Job Center), parents, youth, regional centers, colleges and universities, general and special education teachers, program specialists, and administrators.
- Explore strategies to meet the transition mandate in the IEP
- Develop tools and resources to improve transition at the local level
- Parents learn to navigate the education system and the transition process when school ends
- Engage youth in creating personal plans for their future
