San Diego Summer Music Institute Director’s Track is a four-day workshop presented by the SDSU School of Music and Dance, the San Diego Winds, and the Conn-Selmer Division of Education. Meet and mingle with like-minded colleagues from around the region and country, exchange innovative ideas for program improvement, and enjoy a positive atmosphere that is the San Diego Summer Music Institute. Led by music education faculty from the SDSU School of Music and Dance along with guest clinicians from around the country, San Diego Summer Music Institute Director’s Track Institute is an innovative workshop event focused on music education.

Tracks include: band, general music classroom, jazz, Smart Music, conducting, and administration. Focuses include: recruitment techniques, classroom management, technology integration in the music classroom, retention efforts, rehearsal techniques, conducting opportunities, and more. The institute is designed for both new educators looking to further their development, and seasoned educators looking to reconnect and become reinvigorated by their craft. The institute is also designed for music educators of all grade levels, from elementary through secondary school.
