Out-of-State Students State Authorization Status
SDSU Global Campus offers online programs designed for all students everywhere. We closely monitor authorization laws in every state, and we’re working to secure the appropriate authorization required to offer our online programs to students across the country.
Authorizations By State
Below is a list of the current authorization status of all states, including U.S. Territories. Please check back often, as this list of approved states does change.
State Authorization is permission granted by each state to allow students located in that state to take courses with SDSU. If your state is “not accepting applications,” it means that we’re still in the process of securing those permissions. We encourage you to provide your contact information on the form at the bottom of this page to receive an update as we can enroll you in your course(s).

Notice to Students Who Relocate
If, while enrolled in an online degree program with San Diego State University, you relocate to a state in which we have no authorization/exemption, you may lose eligibility to remain enrolled in your course of study. Please speak with your program coordinator if you anticipate relocating while you are completing your degree. Prospective students who have not yet enrolled should consider this regulation prior to applying, especially if there is a possibility of relocating to a restricted state prior to degree completion.
Complaint Process
State Consumer Protection laws require San Diego State University to provide online and distance education students the state agency address where students can file a complaint with their state agency responsible for distance education. Go to CSU Student Internal Complaint Process for additional information.
Professional Licensure
San Diego State University is physically located in the State of California. If you are considering an academic program that leads to Professional Licensure or Certification, it is strongly recommended that you seek guidance from the appropriate licensing agency in your state or U.S. Territory of interest before enrolling in the academic program at SDSU Global Campus.
