Derek Gallanosa is the Partner, Head Brewer, and Director of Beer Operations for GOAL. Brewing, a small brewery and taproom located in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, California. An industry veteran of over thirteen years, Derek started his career in San Diego working for Karl Strauss and Abnormal Beer Co before moving north in 2017 to Sacramento to open Moksa Brewing Co as their starting Head Brewer, Marketing Manager, and Sales Director. With a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing, Derek has studied, through his professional experiences, the beer industry's dynamic evolution on how it connects its products to its customers. Derek has given marketing and brewing lectures at the California Craft Brewers Association's The Summit and the Brewers Association's Craft Beer Conference, and has been a marketing instructor for San Diego State University as well as University of California, Davis. In regards to brewing, Derek has received medals at the Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup, and the Brewers Cup of California. In 2017, Derek was named a Top 100 Brewer in the World by RateBeer.
