Louise Torio is the president of the Friends of the Villa Montezuma, Inc. (FOVM), the nonprofit devoted to this magnificent historic site. She is a historic preservationist who has restored two Victorian homes in the Sherman Heights Historic District of San Diego, and has been serving the Villa Montezuma for almost three decades. As a historian and storyteller Louise brings history alive with her tales of Jesse Shepard / “Francis Grierson” and old San Diego via her tours of the museum and her walking tour of Jesse Shepard’s neighborhood. She is responsible for securing the recent $5,000,000 grant from the State of California for the City of San Diego for the long-awaited upcoming exterior restoration of the Villa Montezuma Museum.
