OF 0003.28 Dylan

Bob Dylan’s award of a Nobel Prize for literature has sparked a renewed interest in his body of work. Of all of the singer-songwriters of our time, what is it about Dylan’s work that lifted him to the level of regard that made him the first songwriter to receive the Nobel Prize? Our class will attempt to answer this question by listening to selections from Dylan’s recordings, examining the details of his life, and discussing the effect his work has had on our lives. The class will include performances by the instructor.
