Are you interested in engaging with like-minded individuals for enlightening discussions about current events? Join us for a highly interactive and participatory class where we will explore the journalistic terms relevant to discussing current events, analyze bias in various media outlets, and reflect on what is important to us. Together, we will exchange perspectives in a safe, friendly, and instructor-led environment. Through this discussion-style class, we will have fun, get inspired, and perhaps gain new insights from our fellow peers.

Are you looking to enhance your walking routine? Come join me for a serene hike around our lovely local Lake Murray. We'll take gentle strolls with brief pauses for easy stretching and mindfulness exercises. Along the way, you'll find plenty of benches where you can rest and enjoy the beauty of nature. Once we reach the end of the trail, we'll engage in a brief, guided meditation experience. You'll feel relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated afterward, and eager to do it all again. Due to enrollment size limitations, this edventure will be offered twice this summer. Please register for no more than one session.)

Have you ever wondered about the Spanish roots of early San Diego and the people who established it? Who were the priests, soldiers, and craftsmen, and how did the indigenous people respond to their arrival? This lecture and field trip will explore those questions and more. You'll learn about the first mission and its location (surprisingly not in Mission Valley), and then venture to Alta California's first Catholic church on Presidio Hill to stand where those first colonists once stood. From Presidio Hill we will enjoy the breeze from the sea that carried those first colonists to our shore–at least the ones who survived the long voyage.

From the iconic Yosemite National Park to the lesser-known Pipe Spring National Monument, these parks offer a wealth of outdoor experiences and opportunities to explore nature and history. Discover sites related to World War II, Native American peoples, historic ships, volcanoes, and desert wilderness. In this course, we'll explore each of these parks and provide tips on how to plan your visit, when to go, how to save money, and what not to miss. Get ready for your next national park adventure!

Chee, and is set in the mysterious and exciting backdrop of the Navaho Nation. It was published in 1970, and we can't wait to explore and discuss it together.

In January 1919, the world's leaders gathered in Paris with a solemn mission: to ensure that the devastation wrought by the "War to End All Wars" would not be in vain. Inspired by President Woodrow Wilson, they set out to create the League of Nations, an ambitious organization aimed at promoting global cooperation and preventing future conflicts. However, the US Senate ultimately blocked US participation, setting the stage for a complicated and troubled future. At the same time, the Peace Conference imposed harsh reparations on Germany and drew new borders around the world, setting in motion political and social upheavals that continue to affect us to this day.
