Carrie Shen is the Education and Event Manager for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), an organization with 32,000 members dedicated to supporting the professional needs of Marriage and Family Therapists. In her role, she plans CAMFT’s annual events, ensuring they meet the educational and networking needs of the association's members.
Before joining CAMFT, Shen was the Manager of Event Planning for the Asian Real Estate Association of America, serving 17,000 members from their national office in Old Town, San Diego. She has over a decade of experience in event planning, having spent nearly 10 years at Zovio, Inc. (formerly Bridgepoint Education), where she organized various company and employee events.
Shen has been a member of MPI since 2011 and has served in volunteer leadership roles, including on the Board of Directors and the Leadership Development and Education Committees, since 2012. She served as the MPI San Diego Chapter President from January 2022 through 2023. She holds several professional designations, including CMP (since 2012), CMM (since 2016), and CED (since 2017).
In her personal life, Shen enjoys playing the violin, a hobby she took up in the summer of 2018. She met her goal of learning "Silent Night" in time for the holidays that year. Shen lives with her husband, Howard, their two cats, and two dogs.
