Chuck Matthews has over 25 years of experience in the planning, management and delivery of public health and social services in the private and public sectors. He is responsible for directing the development and implementation of regional strategies, programs and activities to ensure family and community health needs are met in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible to the over one million North County residents.

Mr. Matthews has led efforts to improve access to care and integrate services across the physical health, mental health and social services continuum as well as direct responsibility for the operations of public health centers, family resource centers, child welfare services and low-income health programs. He plays a key role in implementation efforts for the County of San Diego’s Live Well, San Diego! strategy to promote healthy, safe and thriving communities throughout the county. Mr. Matthews has extensive experience working on border and binational health issues.
