Gus Vizgirda has been part of the winemaking industry in Temecula for over 25 years. During that time, he has worked for eight different wineries and played a number of roles in the business.
Vizgirda is currently the winemaker for Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula. He's worked there there since 2014. His wines have won numerous gold medals and awards throughout the years, including California Best-in-State Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.
Vizgirda is passionate about promoting local wines and wine education. For the past ten years he has been instructing and providing a hands-on “Winemaking Behind the Scenes” class experience for SDSU Business of Wine certificate. He also teaches "The Character of Wine" and "Wine Flaws and Faults" at SDSU Global Campus, as well as an introduction to winemaking class for a local JC college.
