John R. Spencer, Ph.D., is the Emeritus Professor of Biblical Studies in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at John Carroll University. He earned his doctorate (Ph.D.) from the University of Chicago; an M.A. from Pacific School of Religion; and a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.
