Mark Kern
Profile 

Mark Kern, PhD, RD has been a professor of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State University since 1995. His BS and MS degrees are from Indiana University where he majored in Nutrition Science. He earned his PhD in Foods and Nutrition through the Interdepartmental Nutrition Program at Purdue University in coordination with the Health Kinesiology and Leisure Studies Department. His research interests include the impact of diet and exercise on metabolism, appetite and weight regulation, risk factors for chronic diseases, and exercise performance. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of SCAN’s PULSE since 2003 and enjoys competing in triathlons.
