Michelle Corcoran

A Certified Meeting Professional since 2001, Michelle has experience working in all areas of hospitality: Restaurants and catering, hotel sales, destination and travel management, and meeting and event production. Michelle is known for her work at UC San Diego overseeing donor experiences and engagement events through two fundraising campaigns where she and her team won multiple CASE Circle of Excellence Awards, and helped to realize transformational gifts for the institution.

Currently working for UC Berkeley as the strategic analyst for the Southern California Major Gifts team, Michelle works directly with the donors and volunteer board members to develop new strategies for alumni engagement in the Southern California region. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the North County Philanthropy. Having obtained her University of California People Management Certificate, she is a trusted leader who stewards growth and development providing training opportunities to advance skills and actively rewarding contributions toward innovation and process improvement.

Michelle is excited to be the advisor for the SDSU Global Campus Professional Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning program and looks forward to working with all of the instructors to create an engaging certificate program that will build a pipeline of new professionals for the San Diego meeting and events industry.
