Exploring Craft Beer will take you on a journey through the world of craft beer and help you build a solid foundation for your future in the program. This six-week introductory course offers a 30,000-foot view of the industry while also covering 10,000 years of craft beer history. You’ll learn about beer terminology, beer styles, beer and food pairings, the recent craft beer revolution, and much more.

Whether you have been in the industry for decades or are a brand new beer enthusiast, Exploring Craft Beer will help you succeed in every other class in the program, from sensory courses to business classes. It’ll also open the door to an incredible networking experience, in which you’ll be able to connect with local craft beer professionals at all levels of the industry.

MP 0105 Financial Management of Meetings and Events
Creating a budget and developing a plan to implement it are essential for the success of any meeting or event. This class teaches you the management tools necessary to minimize the chances of cost overruns and eliminates surprises that affect your bottom line. Participants will learn how to forecast revenues and expenses, how to prepare spreadsheets, cost control, and profit and loss analysis. Bring your calculator for this dynamic hands-on course!

Character can be defined as a wine with top-notch distinguishing qualities. Learn what is involved in creating the character of red, white, or blush wines. In this class, you will learn the basic mechanics of wine making, concerns winemakers face, and decisions they make during the process. This course will review in detail the differences involved in making quality wine varietals.

This course focuses on the Microsoft Windows Operating System, installing and configuring the Microsoft Windows operating systems, optimizing the Microsoft Windows operating system, using common Control Panel features, and the basics of networking, information security and security best practices. Students will also learn how to troubleshoot hardware and software problems when working with mobile devices, video, laptops, tablets and printers This course prepares the learner for CompTIA A+ exam 220-802.

Target Audience
Computer technicians who have the equivalent knowledge of at least 12 months of hands-on experience in the lab or field.

LS 0009 Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Get your Black Belt if you will be leading multiple process improvement projects and coaching others to apply their problem-solving skills.

Black Belt Training is an online, advanced course that empowers you to lead and mentor Green Belts and plan/execute strategic Lean Six Sigma programs. This course requires that a Black Belt project be submitted to complete the certificate. Achieving the Black Belt certificate will enable you to transform your organization by reducing costs, increasing revenue and improving collaboration.

Included with this Black Belt Training is 1-on-1 Project Coaching. If you don't have access to a Master Black Belt within your organization to coach and support you to complete a successful project (or if you'd prefer to work with one of our Experts), we can pair you with one of GoLeanSixSigma.com's Master Black Belts. Their Master Black Belt will meet with you remotely to:
  • Select an appropriate Black Belt Project to ensure your project is appropriate (1 hour session)
  • Coach you through Tollgates for each Phase of DMAIC to help ensure your project is on the right track (1 hour session for each Phase)

CB 0002 Beer Styles I

This eight-week course is designed to give students a comprehensive overview of the key characteristics of beer based on style. Students will strengthen their perceptive and descriptive abilities for assessing and communicating the specific attributes of each beer. We will walk through several flights of beer through each class as we discuss the history, brewing process, and key attributes for each style. Our end goal is to become more effective at sharing our passion for craft beer with our customers, friends, family, and colleagues.
