MP 0218 Meeting Design Using #EventCanvas
This one-day senior planner workshop will prepare participants to use an innovative hands-on approach to understanding, designing, and delivering events that matter. #EventCanvas is a proven method and visual template used by leading organizations such as the UN, IOC and Internet Society for developing new or documenting existing events and conference models that create value for stakeholders.

The canvas enables teams and leadership within organizations to visually align their activities, articulate tasks into actionable objectives, and measure ROI post event.

Building a thorough #EventCanvas can be achieved through a sequential, 10-step methodology that employs a range of visual thinking techniques, including empathy mapping, experience journey, and instructional design modelling. #EventCanvas is available for download at EventCanvas.org

  • Understand #EventCanvas methodology and templates to visually articulate the value of an event, align stakeholders', and consciously design events that matter
  • Experience the value and persuasiveness of a visual strategy for an event

This course provides information on the critical links among people and information that are necessary for successful project communications.

GW 0002 Grant Proposal Development

This course will prepare you to write successful grant proposals for nonprofit organizations or tax-exempt institutions (we do not focus on research institutions, businesses or individuals).

You will learn how to develop a compelling, effective grant proposal, including the proposal narrative and budget. You will gain an understanding of federal, state, and private foundation grant guidelines. The course will help you learn how to make your grant proposal stand out. You will have the opportunity to practice writing elements of the proposal with support and guidance from an expert in the field. The course will also provide you with example grant proposals, and you will review those proposals for strengths and weaknesses with your fellow students.
