CM 0004 Essential Contract Management Techniques
Students will follow the day-to-day management of government and commercial contracts in this course. This will include the review and execution of new contractual authorizations; coping with daily administration matters; obtaining timely and full payments; dealing with contract changes, modifications and terminations; and issuance of subcontracts.

B A 0028 Capstone: Applying Human Resource Management

Propose and carry out a guided project that will allow you to demonstrate the HR skills learned and create a tangible product that will be useful on the job. For example, students completing this course have drafted new policies and compliance plans for their companies, developed compensation programs to motivate sales people in their organization, planned new employee orientation programs, and created green plans to promote sustainability throughout their companies.

CB 0011 Draught Systems
This six-week course introduces the fundamentals of draught systems, with discussion and demonstration of the different types of systems. Topics include safety, equipment, design and layout, fluid dynamics, best practices, maintenance, terminology, basic troubleshooting, and more. Students have hands-on use of system components and experience an off-site visit to assess the design and installation of an operational system. This course reviews the guidelines set forth by Brewers Association publications, and guest speakers discuss the role of a draught system to their business. Students will gain a greater understanding of the intricacies of draught system technology, and learn how to problem-solve and prevent common issues.

Prerequisite: Exploring Craft Beer

Leading change requires planning, communicating and monitoring for maximum effectiveness and implementation. Learn how to:

  • Identify a new way of communicating changes using Future Focused Feedback

WI 0032 Sensory Evaluation
Are you looking to add the skill of Sensory Evaluation to your wine knowledge? Blind tasting involves evaluating a wine without prior knowledge of its identity, such as the grape variety, region, or producer. Students in this class will develop their sensory perception and enhance their ability to identify and analyze different characteristics of wine. Students will concentrate on the building blocks of sight, aroma, and taste while understanding how the outside world affects their sensory perception. Students will review wines from different regions and grape varieties while analyzing the sensory stimuli of their core compounds. After this course, students will have increased their knowledge of wine through group learning and using a systematic method to understand the core components of wine.
